High School is the term used for secondary schools in Australia. In the state of Victoria, High schools are sometimes referred to as secondary colleges. The Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania has high school from Years 7 - 10 while senior students undertake Years 11-12. The exact length of compulsory secondary education varies from state to state and there have been calls to make secondary education up to Year 12 compulsory.
